How these words get used
Hose and Jeans are singular in German: eine Hose is one pair of trousers, and Die Jeans ist zu eng takes a singular verb. Rock is a skirt, nothing to do with music, and Kleid is a dress. Its plural, Kleider, can also mean clothes in general.
For fit, passen takes the dative: Die Jacke passt mir nicht. In the shop you ask Haben Sie das in Größe 40? or Kann ich das anprobieren?, and the Umkleidekabine is where you do it. anprobieren, anziehen and ausziehen all split: Ich ziehe den Mantel an. tragen means both to wear and to carry, and it changes its vowel: er trägt.
About returns: shops have no legal duty to take back something you bought in person just because you changed your mind. Most offer an Umtausch anyway if you bring the Kassenbon. Shops are closed on Sundays, so a weekend regret waits until Monday.
