Talking to: Vermieterin · Level B1

The situation: The heating in my flat has not worked properly for two weeks and there is damp in the bathroom. I am calling my landlord to have it repaired.

The steps follow the usual order. The indented blocks show what to say if the conversation goes another way.

Card A: Vermieterin

You are the Vermieterin. At each step, say your line or one of the other wordings under it. The indented blocks are for when the conversation goes another way. Their headings are written for your partner, so "you" there means your partner.

    And what about the damp?

  5. Besuch vorschlagen

    Das ist nicht gut. Ich muss jemanden schicken, der sich das ansieht.

    That's not good. I need to send someone to look at it.

    • Da muss jemand vorbeikommen und das prüfen.

      Someone needs to come by and check that.

  6. Termin vereinbaren

    Wie wäre es am Donnerstag, dem 12. März, um 10 Uhr vormittags?

    Or in other words:

    • Passt Ihnen Donnerstag, der 12. März, um 10 Uhr?

      Does Thursday, March 12th, at 10 AM suit you?

    If the proposed date doesn't work

    Moment, ich schaue... Ja, Freitag um 14 Uhr wäre möglich.

    One moment, I'll check... Yes, Friday at 2 PM would be possible.

    Gut, dann kommt jemand wie besprochen. Der Hausmeister wird Sie vorher anrufen.

You are the one with the appointment. The small line in italics is what the other person just said. Answer with the line under it, and where there are several, say the one that's true for you. The fallback lines work at any point.
